About me

Born in Mexico City, Diego Padilla is a film direction graduate from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, with additional training in theater at CEDART "Diego Rivera."

As a director, he has written and directed five short films, three of which have been selected in national festivals such as the Mix Festival, Cácaro Film Fest or Cecehachero Film Fest, where his short film "Memories of the Man I Wasn't" received the Best Short Film award in 2019. He was part of the emerging talent section of the Kinoki Film Fest in 2020, and as a screenwriter he was a finalist at the Angular Script Festival 2021, where the jury was chaired by Guillermo Arriaga.

He has also directed music videos and screendances. His most notable works include a CENART collaboration with German musician Christian Löffler on the music video "ROTH" in 2022 and the screendance "Disassembly", selected for the National Meeting of Young Art 2023, which has been exhibited across the country. "Eyelids, What Do I Want Them For?" has been selected to premiere at the Cácaro Festival, organized by PROCINE CDMX, in April 2026 as part of the Young Images section. His shortfilm "Demian" has recently been selected at national festivals and is set to premiere in the coming months. His latest short film and graduation thesis, "Animal", has recently completed postproduction and will soon be seeking its international premiere.

In advertising, he has directed commercials for brands such as Haier and Recarlo. He also works as an editor and still photographer. Currently, he is writing his first feature film screenplay while simultaneously producing the documentary "Embroidering Life."
